How these numbers were made
Every price starts as a line on a menu: a product name, a price, a format and the date the menu carries. The catalogue keeps that line as written and compares like with like — per gram against per gram, one gram against a pack, a joint against a joint.
The figure published in every report is the median, the middle of the distribution, never the average: one expensive menu does not move it. The minimum and the maximum sit next to it on purpose, because a city has a cheap end and an expensive end.
Per-gram figures are used only where the menu prints the weight. For joints the median is the price per joint, and for products sold by the piece it is the price per piece — never converted. Every number keeps the date of the menu it was read from, and a menu date is not a verification date: a shop may have changed its prices the day after the menu was printed. Availability is not checked and no effect, potency or recommendation is claimed.
